How Do I Maintain My Braided Wigs?

Do’s

Use a gentle shampoo and lukewarm water to wash the wigs.
Use a towel to pat dry the wig or let the wig air dry.
Use hot water to dip the wig; this allows for straighter tips.
Use mousse, oil sheen, or hair spray to hydrate the wig, keeping it shiny and new.
Use a wig holder to hang the wig vertically or a wig bag and mannequin head to keep the wig airy at all times.

Don’ts

Do not wash the wig in extremely hot water, as this might make the wig appear chapped.
Do not rub the wig with a towel while drying; this may damage and frizz the wig because of too much friction.
Do not use any kind of heating device on the wig. This includes Hair dryers, flat irons, etc. This may damage the wig and the synthetic fibers.
Do not use products that contain sulfate, alcohol, heavy oils, or grease.
Do not sleep in your wig. This may cause tangles at the tips or on the curls of the wig.
Do not fold the wig excessively or tie it up in a nylon bag.
Do not let the wigs get wet frequently; this can turn them into a haven for microorganisms.
Do not soak the wig. Extended soaking can weaken the wig and damage its structure.
